Uber gives all 30,000 employees access to ChatGPT Work
Uber and OpenAI have widened their partnership so that Uber’s roughly 30,000 staff worldwide will use ChatGPT Work, OpenAI’s enterprise agent for corporate workflows, launched in July 2026. Uber began with a pilot of about 1,000 people earlier this year. Around 80% of those pilot users were non-engineers in teams such as finance, operations and product.
Pilot users reportedly used it to analyse operations data, localise training material and build custom dashboards. Uber has not shared the cost and says it will track outcomes to guide further AI deployment. OpenAI is pushing hard on enterprise customers as it competes with Anthropic.
This matters in India because large employers, including global capability centres, are watching such rollouts closely. When AI tools spread to non-technical teams, companies need developers and analysts who can set up integrations, govern data access and measure results. Freshers with data, automation and process skills can find a way in through these roles.
